Was ready at my home waiting  for me after work so bonus points for being on time All sorted he even stayed extra 30 mins to make sure everything was correct. Clearly takes pride in his work. I couldn’t recommend DPF fixer as the work carried out was a temporary patch that lasted four days and left a huge stain on the driveway. My sister had an engine management light come on on her 2013 Toyota Yaris 1.4D on Wednesday 19th August and the car showed a C2463 fault - DPF soot accumulation. I called DPF fixer and explained the situation, they assured me they could fix it and quoted £408 taking a £150 deposit. I was given an all day time slot for Friday 21st August. Baz arrived around 11am and lit a cigarette while he got his tools out. He did what he needed to do and came to the door saying I’d need to take him for a drive while he cleared the fault as it would otherwise prevent the DPF regeneration and he didn’t have the correct computer to clear it properly. After an hour driving on the motorway the light stayed out and the fault appeared to be fixed. Four days later and the DPF fault is back. Baz was a pleasant guy, he knew his job and explained things clearly. I am technical enough to know that! The call centre took the booking for a Toyota Yaris 1.4D and equipped the technician with a good but generic obd2 computer that couldn’t reset manufacturer fault codes. Baz did his best with ehat he had but should be properly equipped for work DPF fixer take on. There are no warnings in their blurb that they don’t have the right tools for the job.

SCAM SCAM SCAM i used it for Scania truck paid £660 this method does not work for truck the engineer visited 2 times he cleaned the filter without removing it from truck and gave me report but the engine management light was coming back again and again finally had to pay another £750 to mechanic get it removed from truck and get it cleaned and put it back thankfully the light has gone the report from DPF FIXER engineer was ZERO % soot in the filter but look at the filter after removing

My Land Rover garage could not see my vehicle for 10 days and i would need a lottery win to settle my bill. I called DPF Fixer and they arranged a visit to my home in 2 days. The technician turned up at the arranged time and my vehicle was back to normal in 2 hrs, in fact it is so much better to be honest. What is Forced Regeneration?

Some garages offer ‘forced regeneration’ as a quick fix for a DPF warning light. This is usually offered at a low price, but it has little value without properly cleaning the DPF first. In fact, if your DPF is in good condition, it regenerates automatically while you drive. If the warning light is on, it is too late for simple regeneration to solve – only specialist cleaning will solve the problem.

People are sometimes advised to have their DPF removed. Unfortunately it is illegal to drive without a working DPF – it is an automatic MOT failure and most likely invalidates the car’s insurance. The correct solution is replacement or cleaning.

What is a DPF?

Diesel engines are efficient, but they create sooty particulates in their exhaust that are bad for health. Your Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) removes the particulates by pushing exhaust gases through a maze of metal channels, collecting the sooty particulates. Engine management systems are supposed to regenerate the filter unit when needed by applying high temperatures to the collected soot. For various reasons this regeneration routine can fail (one of the main reasons is when the car is only used for short journeys, never getting fully up to temperature). When the filter becomes clogged, exhaust flow is blocked. Eventually your engine management will apply a partial shut-down. The filter is a closed unit, and expensive to replace. It can be cleaned, however, with the right tools and techniques.

Can I still drive?

If you have an engine management light on, the problem needs to be fixed – even if the light goes off from time to time. The light means the engine is not working properly. Sometimes, engine management systems will put your car into “limp-home” mode after the fault is detected. That usually doesn’t change till the fault is cleared. You may be able to get home, but until the problem is fixed your car is not really useable. Most garages will prefer to simply replace the DPF unit, but this is expensive and rarely necessary. Fortunately the unit can now be effectively cleaned without removal, at much lower cost.

What are the costs?

Cleaning typically costs from £240 to £390 +VAT. You have the choice of buying a new DPF unit and getting it fitted (the most expensive option), or having your current unit cleaned. Cleaning can be done by removing the unit and sending it off to be cleaned, or using our in-car cleaning service. Of all three options, ours is the cheapest and quickest, especially when you consider the garage costs of removing and fitting a unit. How does cleaning work?

We provide a full, deep cleaning service for all Diesel Particulate Filters and Gasoline Particulate Filters where we aim to remove between 95-98% of the filter’s contents. The service we provide is the following:
●Pre-clean Health Check and Investigation : This allows our expert engineer to read all of the live data from your vehicle’s ECU. This will tell them how full the filter is in terms of percentage and the weight of soot in grams so we understand what we need to remove. Alongside this we are also checking all of the vehicle’s sensor, glow plugs and every other component involved with the DPF system to be certain the faults are not being caused by something else and that the clean will be successful
●Full Deep Clean of the DPF – Using our in-house manufactured cleaning solution our engineer will being the c leaning process which will take 45-60 mins to complete
●Post-clean Health Check and Investigation: We perform a post-clean health check on the vehicle, again to review the live data to ensure we have removed the contents of the DPF, reset any warning lights and that there are no other fault codes you need to be aware of. We will also, where possible, perform a short road test to ensure full power has been restored.
●Copies of both pre and post health checks: These will be emailed to you for your records
