A DPF warning light means soot is blocking the filter. Your engine may go into ‘limp-home’ mode, with sharply reduced power and efficiency. It may refuse to go at all. Our engineer uses special cleaning fluids and equipment to remove the blockage, then carries out a regeneration procedure to bring your DPF back to full operation. As soon as he’s done, you can resume normal driving, with a clean system, reduced pollution, improved fuel efficiency and better performance. It’s a fast, economical, and sensible solution.

Pre-Clean Diagnostics

Before we begin, we perform diagnostics to ensure the vehicle is in suitable condition for a clean and, more importantly, to confirm that the issue is DPF-related and not another underlying problem causing the DPF light to illuminate.

Live Data Check

We then conduct a live data check to assess the vehicle’s readings. This helps us determine if the DPF is functioning correctly and if it is blocked, as well as the severity of any blockage.

DPF Cleaning

Our engineer injects our solution into the DPF. Access points vary by vehicle, and our engineer will use their expertise to select the most appropriate one on-site. The solution expands within the DPF for approximately 40 minutes. Following this, we engage the engine to expel soot and ash from the exhaust (this is the visible part of the process for customers). We then re-check the live data to evaluate the DPF readings; a second clean may be necessary for severely blocked vehicles.

Regeneration

After the clean, we proceed with the regeneration phase, which can be either static or dynamic, depending on whether the customer is present. If the customer is present, we perform a test drive with them, monitoring live data throughout the drive and regeneration. If the customer is not present, we conduct a static regeneration and check the live data upon completion.

Post-clean diagnostics

Once regeneration is complete, we run a second diagnostic scan to review the vehicle’s current readings and identify any remaining faults.

Advice given

Finally, we provide the customer with advice on any necessary next steps if faults are still present. If no faults remain, we offer guidance on how to maintain a clean DPF in the future.
